The Yellow Box
rain patters Morse code gibberish on fogged windows
ladder question hopscotch excavate
everything I ever signed my name to
is in the yellow box
air is stuck in place, clutching
whatever moves through it
the bathroom is the only room
cool enough to sleep in
a rug that fits me, the pile
muffling my ear and obscuring
every other word
ridicule headwind manifest corner
